Understanding Generalised Anxiety Disorder

Anxiety can mean different things to different people. However, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is a diagnostic criteria that is used by professionals to monitor and target particular symptoms.
The symptoms of anxiety are far ranging. For example, worrying thoughts, disturbed sleep, feeling frightened and having heart palpitations.
Anxiety functions by using your body's 'fight or flight' system. This is can cause many distressing symptoms.
The treatment I offer is 'disorder specific'. This means I establish if there is an underlying cause of your anxiety such as Social Phobia or PTSD.
